Project

In 2024, Clean Cities Georiga partnered on a Department of Energy project titled “Realizing Equity and Electrification for Fleets (REEF) .” Alongside Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition, Drive Clean Colorado, and Clean Fuels Ohio, Clean Cities Georgia is working with an organization called Mitra EV. Mitra EV’s mission is to provide an affordable, low-risk solution that home service fleets can use to shift to electric transportation. Project REEF aims to establish a virtual charging network available only to home services or related companies to encourage further electrification of this industry.

Transitioning to an EV (Electric Vehicle) Fleet: An Overview

Mitra EV’s Model

Their model is simple. A home service company would sign a 3-5-year lease and pay a flat rate per vehicle. Their most popular leasing option is the GM Brightdrop. So, if a home service fleet selected the GM Brightdrop lease option, they would expect to pay $1,500 per month per vehicle (minimum of 5 vehicles). Mitra EV would then provide level 2 chargers and installation, 2 DC fast chargers (dual ports), and an on-site battery storage system at no additional cost. These chargers serve two purposes. The first provides EV charging for the new GM Brightdrops, and the second provides EV charging for other home service companies, thus creating the virtual charging network. Additionally, this creates a new revenue stream as companies are able to profit from the use of the shared chargers.
