EcoCAR 3

Awarded: August 2014
Completion Date: May 2018

Project
The U.S. Department of Energy and General Motors are sponsors of EcoCAR. EcoCAR 3, is the latest Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition series and challenges 16 university teams to redesign a Chevrolet Camero to reduce its environmental impact. Teams must also meet the challenge of maintaining the muscle and performance of the Camero. Teams have four years (2014-2018) to complete their tasks. EcoCAR teams are encouraged to engage with their local Clean Cities Coalitions. Clean Cities–Georgia is proud to support our local team at Georgia Tech. We have also joined forces with the EcoCAR team at Mississippi State University as there is not a coalition in the state. Visit the website to learn more about this project: http://ecocar3.org/.

Meet the teams:

Georgia Tech

The EcoCAR 3 team at Georgia Tech is comprised of four managers, 23 students, and three professors. Each student is part of an engineering and non-engineering sub-team, and they meet weekly to work on deliverables and collaborate. In the first week of June members of the team attended the Year One Competition in Seattle.GT EcoCar
